Rules check

I checked some of the rules issues that came up - here's what I found:

Ranged spell attacks
Bonus (int, wis or cha)
Vs enemy Armour Class
Damage doesn't have proficiency added
Enemy may then have to save dependent on spell, using relevant modifier and save bonus, for which the DC =
8+caster's spell bonus + proficiency

Trip attacks
Strength check contested with the target's strength or dexterity to knock the target prone or push it 5 feet. Actually did this right, wahey!

Sneak attacking with nets
Sadly, you can't cause sneak attack damage with a net. The one good thing about netting someone unawares is that nets have a terrible range and attacking with surprise is basically the only time you don't have disadvantage
